An artist’s book is a medium of creative expression that uses the form or function of a “book” as inspiration.This relaxing workshop will combine simple book making techniques with mixed media art and creative writing to make your own unique artist book. Exploring the environment around us in visual art and words, we will fill our own handmade books with our personal journeys through the landscape. Books are a journey, a transformative space, a special object and a place to go. Making a book involves a lot of transferable skills and mindful attention. In the increasingly digital age, books keep our tactile senses alive and are a reminder to slow down. No experience is necessary for this workshop, artist books are a fun, inspiring type of art for beginners and more experienced creatives.
